When you go under the hood to explore how to stretch the ERP – create plugins for specific business scenarios, brainstorm with your customers, partners & ISVs, and turn yourself into a social media ninja – you increase your chances of becoming an Acumatica MVP. For an insight into the daily drive and to understand why InfoSourcing has won multiple awards – I spoke with Harsha to learn more about his participation in the Acumatica Community and why ‘niche’ is all the rage.
As an active member of the Acumatica community, how do you see the community contribute towards developing the Acumatica ERP? Why do you choose to participate frequently in the community’s forums?
Harsha: The Acumatica community has grown right across with 10,000+ customers and hundreds of developers understanding the power of the Acumatica ERP platform, contributing significantly to building the ecosystem. With an open platform – you can share your ideas on Github or participate in Hackathon events, or volunteer as an MVP to community projects such as Acumatica Surveys and other areas of contribution on Community forums.
Sharing is caring! As an MVP, you get to give back to the community and help customers, partners or developers who need a solution or know-how, and help create a platform for exchanging ideas.
What keeps InfoSourcing going after 15+ years in ERP?
Harsha: If I can use one word to summarize, it’s “Passion”. We have a relentless passion for building our products and consulting with small, medium & large businesses, helping them solve problems in new ways.
We are a team of high-energy developers, consultants and problem solvers, and we love to consult our clients, learn about their business, and implement and optimize their productivity.
So, passion keeps us going.
How have you observed businesses adapt to the digitization process?
Harsha: Over the last two years, we have seen a surge of growth in the adoption of Cloud ERPs or the digital transformation of businesses. With Covid, more companies realized the need for digital transformation and providing their employees remote access to perform their jobs. The need for accessibility largely contributed to this push in adoption rates.
InfoSourcing builds plugins to deliver business processes for niche industries such as print & jewellery. How important is the design of custom processes for specific industries – how do they differentiate from using the standard ERP?
Harsha: That’s a great question! Our approach is simple – “One size doesn’t fit all”. We’ve found that Acumatica is the right platform to utilize and scale business applications and build extended functionality must-haves for specific industries/businesses. For some cases, we make add-ons with smaller sets of functionalities, such as the eSignature or Address Validation plugin.
It’s good to see integrated features and enhancements within the standard ERP. However, it may not be an exact fit for other customers – that’s where plugins or customization covers 10 to 20% of custom design and business logic.
